New Releases: IWC Portugieser Chronograph

IWC chose to focus on the IWC Replica Swiss Made collection, a collection inspired by 1930s pocket watches that offers a rich selection of complications, sizes, metals and colours. The new releases include three new versions of the fan-favourite IWC Portugieser Chronograph, now available with Horizon Blue, Obsidian and Dune dials.

The three new dial hues were chosen to represent different times of day and night. Horizon Blue is housed in an 18k white gold case, symbolising an afternoon sky free of mood-depressing clouds. Dune, paired with a stainless steel case, echoes the evening, specifically that AAA IWC Replica Watches beautiful golden hour of the day when everyone looks beautiful. This is the minimum one can expect from this kind of money.

This isn’t a small base movement housing a perpetual module: it’s a massive movement that almost completely fills this 44.4mm wide case. Its complications include a perpetual calendar showing the Cheap IWC Replica date, day of the week, month and year in four digits, perpetual moon phases for the northern and southern hemispheres, and small seconds.

New Product Release: IWC Portuguese Series Manual Winding Tourbillon Day and Night Watch

Schaffhausen-based brand IWC Replica Swiss Made is entirely focused on its Portugieser collection this year. While the Portguieser case has been updated, much of the debut isn’t entirely new. However, there are two exceptions, one of which is the new IWC Portuguese Manual Winding Tourbillon Day and Night Display.

The Portguieser Day and Night Manual Winding Tourbillon Watch (Ref. IWC545901) is housed in a solid 18k Armor gold case, 42.4 mm in diameter and 10.8 mm thick. That’s quite thin for such a wide watch, which may make it sit very flat and wide on the wrist – not a bad thing. Armor Gold is AAA IWC Replica Watches proprietary rose gold alloy that is harder and more durable than the commonly used 5N gold.

The case features a brushed case, polished top and bezel, domed sapphire crystal, and pull-out crown. The 60m of water resistance makes it suitable for most activities outside of the pool or ocean, but 60m of water resistance also seems like an odd play to compete with a watch that’s only 50m of water resistant. Powering the IWC Portugieser Day and Night manual winding tourbillon watch is a newly developed movement, the “IWC Manufacture” movement 81925. This hand-wound movement is an evolution of the 81905, which only features a tourbillon.

The Portofino range strikes a balance between the IWC Big Pilot and IWC Portofino ranges, offering what is arguably the most feature-packed model in the brand’s catalogue. Both IWC Replica Watches truly new Portuguese watches launched this year are impressive, but I appreciate the restraint and simplicity, as well as the moody elegance conveyed by the black and gold combination.
