Reviewing the IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic Spitfire

The name “Spitfire” first appeared at the turn of the millennium. IWC Replica began manufacturing a series of pilots’ watches named after the legendary aircraft in 2003. With its pale dial, it was regarded as “the more elegant Mark,” but it was somewhat overshadowed by the 14th incarnation of the classic pilots’ watch, which was named Mark XV.

The new Copy Pilot’s Watch Automatic Spitfire is equipped with new manufacture Caliber 32110. IWC presents two versions: our tested watch with stainless-steel case, black dial and green textile strap for $4,350; and a version with a bronze case, green dial and dark brown calfskin strap.

The matte stainless-steel case with its narrow, steep bezel and massive screw-in back has a moderate diameter of 39 mm and is therefore one mm smaller than the case of the IWC Mark XVIII Replica. The height is 10.86 mm, which gives it a sporty look and is also an appropriate thickness for a classic pilots’ watch. Manufacture Caliber 32110 contributes to the case’s height: the movement is 4.2 mm thick. Its diameter is 28.2 mm.

The movement cannot be seen through the opaque double back, but it’s nonetheless designed in the characteristic IWC Replica Watches Review manner. Typical details are robust bridges adorned with circular Geneva waves, various circular graining patterns and, above all, the openwork rotor with IWC’s logo.

IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Collection Reboots

IWC Schaffhausen Replica has put the spotlight on its elegant Portugieser family in 2020, and as part of its new lineup has also unveiled the first new models in the nautical-inspired Portugieser Yacht Club sub-series since its last revamp in 2010. The latest versions of the Replica Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph include two in stainless steel cases with steel bracelets — one with a silvered dial with blue highlights, the other, a blue dial with white details — and one two-tone steel-and-rose-gold model with a silvered dial, whose gold details include the hands, hour numerals, bezel, and the center links of the bracelet.

The IWC Replica cases measure 44.6 mm, the same as the Moon & Tides model, and the dial layout showcases the user-friendly chronograph readout at 12 o’clock, which tallies both elapsed hours and minutes on a single subdial.

The Moon and Tides is the most intriguing new IWC Replica Yacht Club edition and the only one in a full rose-gold case. Measuring 44.5 mm in diameter and 14.4 mm thick, the case houses behind its navy blue dial the in-house, automatic Caliber 82835, enhanced here for the first time with a tides display function.
