Schaffhausen-based brand IWC Replica Swiss Made is entirely focused on its Portugieser collection this year. While the Portguieser case has been updated, much of the debut isn’t entirely new. However, there are two exceptions, one of which is the new IWC Portuguese Manual Winding Tourbillon Day and Night Display.
The Portguieser Day and Night Manual Winding Tourbillon Watch (Ref. IWC545901) is housed in a solid 18k Armor gold case, 42.4 mm in diameter and 10.8 mm thick. That’s quite thin for such a wide watch, which may make it sit very flat and wide on the wrist – not a bad thing. Armor Gold is AAA IWC Replica Watches proprietary rose gold alloy that is harder and more durable than the commonly used 5N gold.
The case features a brushed case, polished top and bezel, domed sapphire crystal, and pull-out crown. The 60m of water resistance makes it suitable for most activities outside of the pool or ocean, but 60m of water resistance also seems like an odd play to compete with a watch that’s only 50m of water resistant. Both seem to hint at a cruder sophistication.
The day/night indicator at 9 o’clock represents the brand’s new implementation of this complex function. The polished black and gold sphere rotates according to the time to indicate day or night. You may have seen this type of indicator before, most notably by Arnold & Son, but it’s new to Best IWC Replica Watches.
Powering the IWC Portugieser Day and Night manual winding tourbillon watch is a newly developed movement, the “IWC Manufacture” movement 81925. This hand-wound movement is an evolution of the 81905, which only features a tourbillon.
The Cheap IWC Replica movement features a diamond-coated silicon escapement for increased efficiency and longevity, and is eye-catching through the sapphire case back. The decorative gilt base plate features holes for the mainspring barrel, gears and, most importantly, the day/night sphere. The movement provides an 84-hour power reserve at a frequency of 28,800vph.
The Portofino range strikes a balance between the IWC Big Pilot and IWC Portofino ranges, offering what is arguably the most feature-packed model in the brand’s catalogue. Both IWC Replica Watches truly new Portuguese watches launched this year are impressive, but I appreciate the restraint and simplicity, as well as the moody elegance conveyed by the black and gold combination.
